A Solid Granny Square Shoulder Bag Crochet Pattern is my latest bag pattern. This is a cute and simple bag that can be worked up in a few hours by beginners or experienced crocheters. I crocheted the bag with cotton yarn to help give it that Boho look.

Finishing:
Joining the 2 pieces
Place the two pieces together (right sides out)
10. Join yarn at the top left side seam. Ch 1, sc in the same stitch and in each stitch around 3 sides with 2 sc in each corner. Do not sc the top edges together.
11. Ch 1, turn. Sc in the same st and in each stitch around the 3 sides with 2 sc in each corner.
12. Repeat Round 11.
Note: If you would like a square corner, crochet 3 sc in each corner in Rounds 11 and 12.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Lining
Add a lining if desired. Click here for instructions on adding a lining. Add the lining below the spot where the strap/cord is placed so the lining does not buckle.
Strap/cord
You can crochet a cord or purchase cord or a leather strap. I purchased the pictured 5 mm cotton rope cord at Michaels. Place cord in corner spaces of row 11. Tie a knot in the cord before and after the bead.
If wanted, you could add more beads or fringe to cord. Several options for crocheting a cord are available on the Internet (search How to make a purse strap). Here is one:
