St. Patrick’s Day Bag of Gold. Every year in March a woman’s club that I am a member of hosts a bake sale at a local craft fair. Since Easter is in April this year, we decided to decorate the table with St. Patrick’s Day cloths, napkins and shamrocks instead of bunnies and eggs. I thought I would make these little green bags to help decorate the table and a fellow member, Mary, is making candies that will fit in these Bags of Gold very nicely.
We only sell homemade goodies, but you could fill the Bags of Gold with any candies (Hershey’s Kisses would be perfect!) or little gifts to celebrate the holiday. If you need something to send to your kid’s school for St. Patrick’s Day, this would be just the thing since the bag works up quickly or take a few Bags of Gold to your office colleagues.
I crocheted the bags with Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Hunter Green and Gold and an H hook. The bags are simple and easy to crochet and probably can be done in less than a couple hours.
