My crochet mistake and why I didn’t frog it.

    October 30, 2024

My crochet mistake and why I didn’t frog it. Lately I have been crocheting what I call ‘little guys.’ Some call them ‘smalls’ or ‘plushies.’ I like to make quick and easy items for the holiday bazaar coming up in November. This cute little octopus works up fast and is fun to make. , When I was finished and had all loose ends taken care of, I realized my crochet mistake — I had crocheted seven tentacles instead of eight. Some smart youngster would surely tell me I should have eight tentacles if I took this to the bazaar. So, I set it aside while I debated about frogging or…

Crochet hint – joining stitches at the end of a round

    August 20, 2024

While looking at Pinterest this morning, I came across a picture of a crocheted circle with directions on where to join stitches at the end of a round. Years ago, before I knew better, I often ended a round by working a slip stitch into the chain stitch at the beginning of the round. The result was an awkward looking join. . . January 9, 2024

Happy New Year! Last January I started the year with the announcement of my pattern for the Libbie Granny Square Panel Bag being published in the online magazine, I like Crochet. Well, time flies and before I knew it, I forgot to post the pattern here on my own blog! The Libbie Granny Square Panel Bag is a small shoulder bag measuring 10.5″ x 12″ and can be completed in a weekend. The two sides of the bag are crocheted in the same design: “a strip of three…

    Merry Christmas!

    December 21, 2023

. Hello everyone, I hope this past year was a good one for you. Our family is well, it but has had its ups and downs like everyone else. Hopefully with the new year, things will settle down and we can get back to ‘normal.’ I’d like to thank all of you who have supported me throughout 2023 – blog readers and those who purchased my patterns from Etsy and Ravelry. I am always humbled that someone likes my designs enough to buy and even more when they send me an email or message with kind comments. Thank you, again. Have a wonderful Christmas. Safe travels if on the move…

    Crocheting and Preparing for Christmas

    October 26, 2023
